During preparation of the exhibition „Museum as Muse: Artists Reflect“ (1999, Museum of Modern Art, New York), it was the first opportunity, in a long while, that I had to see the Museum of Drawers once again, whereby I noticed that quite a few works required restorative services.
In July 2008, I was contacted by Nathalie Baeschlin, professor at Bern High School for Preservation and Restoration. Prior to this we had already spoken about the disastrous state of affairs. She reconfirmed how appropriate this object would be for the School of Restoration.
Together with Kunsthaus Zurich and the generous support of the Julius Baer Foundation she brought this project to realisation and for this I extend many thanks to Nathalie and award her the „Spiritus Rector“.
